Subtitled 'A Collection of Archive, Commission & Unreleased Album Material'
'Exile' and 'The Bitter Suite' were written during the 'Slow Dance' era and were intended for Private Parts And Pieces 8 but the former was felt to be too acoustic for that album and the second too complicated. The Lifeboat Suite was composed for Central TV's production 'Lifeboat' and includes some pieces which were never used as there was a 'no incidentals' policy at the time. 'Along The Towpath' is influenced by the music of 'Picnic At Hanging Rock' whilst 'The Sky Road' concludes the library collection.
'Tiwai: Island Of The Apes' was taken from the 1991 'Survival Special' series from Anglia TV but the music was made in a hurry for the programme so the version here has benefited from fuller stereo remixes.
'Wild Voices, Quiet Water Suite' was also taken from the same Survival Programme and the full version is recorded on this album. 'The Beggar And The Thief' was recorded in 1973.
