A homage to the blues music that inspired Hackett as a youth. It’s little known that his first five years in the business were spent as a jobbing harmonica player and the ‘poor man’s trumpet’ is expertly wielded here alongside the soaring virtuoso guitar for which he is best known. The album invokes the spirit of Paul Butterfield and John Mayall in classics such as ‘Born In Chicago’, ‘The Stumble’ and the title track ‘Blues With A Feeling’ while the ‘Blues according to Hackett’ unfold in his own uncompromising contributions.
